Match Report Saturday 10 November
Leicester City 0 Burnley 1
Goal Scorer Andy Gray 23rd Minute
What fantastic result for caretaker manager Steve Davis. Coming especially after such a turbulent week at Turf Moor, which showed the departure of Steve Cotterill
Burnley deserved all 3 points after dominating the game and the players obviously responded in the best possible way for everyone at Turf Moor by getting behind Steve and coming away from the Walker Stadium, with a much needed victory.
Andy Gray took his seasons tally into double figures with his 10th goal of the season with a shot on the turn from just inside the box and into the far corner, giving the Leicester keeper no chance in the 23rd minute which Burnley deserved after dominating the opening exchanges.
Burnley took control after the goal and twice went close with efforts from Robbie Blake and Kyle Lafferty. Whilst the defence superbly marshalled by Clarke Carlise and stand in centre half Steven Jordon limiting the Leicester forward goal opportunities to virtually nil.
At the end the 90 minutes the players and staff were jubilant with Steve giving the team a very visible team huddle in front of the travelling army of natural born clarets |
